Love-A-Stray is a non-profit, all-volunteer, no-kill organization dedicated to helping homeless dogs in our community. What sets Love-A-Stray apart is its unique approach to animal rescue. Unlike traditional shelters, Love-A-Stray operates without a physical shelter. Instead, homeless dogs are placed in foster homes where they receive personalized care and attention while awaiting their forever homes.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Love-A-Stray is its commitment to ensuring that every dollar donated directly benefits the dogs in their care. Because they do not have the overhead costs associated with maintaining a physical shelter, your donations, adoption fees, and fundraising efforts go directly towards fulfilling their mission: to provide love, care, and support to dogs in need.
Love-A-Stray’s mission revolves around the four-fold principles of “LOVE”:
Lessen pet overpopulation: Love-A-Stray actively works to reduce pet overpopulation by providing spay/neuter services and additional veterinary care for all dogs that come into their program.
Offer housing and medical treatment: They provide housing for unwanted and homeless dogs, ensuring they receive the medical treatment they need, including emergency veterinary care when necessary.
Value the life of rescue dogs: Love-A-Stray believes in the value of every rescue dog’s life. They offer innovative behavior rehabilitation and place dogs with nurturing foster families until they find loving, compatible, permanent homes.
Educate the public: Love-A-Stray is committed to educating the public on the importance of being advocates for dogs. They emphasize humane treatment, proper veterinary care, spaying/neutering, and training.
As members of our community, there are many ways you can support Love-A-Stray and the dogs they care for. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and go a long way in providing for the needs of rescue animals. Love-A-Stray requires a variety of items to help care for their furry friends, and every contribution, whether it’s a monetary donation or supplies such as food, toys, or bedding, makes a difference.
