Avon Lake’s Environmental Affairs Advisory Board (EAAB) is organizing a clean-up day in Avon Lake as a part of Lorain County’s Beautiful Day which brings together volunteers for a day of litter clean-up, planting and city beautification projects. This year’s event will take place Saturday May 20th, 2023 starting at 9am.
You can plan projects with your family, co-workers/employees, or get a group of friends or neighbors together to help make a difference in our community! To register your project or for more information or suggestions on projects please visit the Environment Affairs Advisory Board website.
A few ideas for Clean-Up Day could include:
- Cleaning up litter from one of our beautiful beaches! A spot where so many gather to relax, celebrate, or catch a sunset; it’s important to take pride in our lakefront spaces and to keep them clean.
- Clean up litter from one of our many parks and playgrounds throughout the city.
- Plant native species plants at city parks.
- Mulch playgrounds.
- Branch pick up at city parks/playgrounds.
