Avon Lake has an abundance of outdoor activities for all ages throughout the seasons. With 5 city parks, a Lorain County Metro Park, and a handful of neighborhood parks throughout the city, there is always something to explore. Let’s learn a little bit more about each of these parks.
Miller Road Park

Hours: 6AM – 11PM, year-round
Miller Road Park features a year-round open long fishing pier great for walking, fishing, watching boaters, and of course catching those beautiful Lake Erie sunsets. Miller Road Park also has a boat launch which is in use in spring, summer, and fall. The Gazebo at Miller Road Park is home to Avon Lake’s summer concert series and can also be reserved for family gatherings/picnics/parties etc. A playground at the park also makes it a great stop with your little ones.
Bleser Park
Address: 32800 Electric Boulevard
Hours: 6AM – 11PM, year-round
Bleser Park is the focal point for numerous activities. It is home to the Avon Lake City pool, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, baseball, volleyball, and two pavilions available for party rentals. Bleser is also home to the city’s party in the park summer series which includes concerts and food trucks.
Veterans’ Memorial Park

Hours: 6AM – 11PM, year-round
Looking to catch a great sunset – Veterans Park is the place to do it! Enjoy the beautiful Lake Erie sunsets on one of the many park benches on the boardwalk or set up some beach chairs in the sand and enjoy the beautiful views. Looking to paddle board or kayak? The Avon Lake Boat Launch located at Veterans Park is available for small boat storage, kayak, and paddle board storage. Private events can be held in one of the two rental facilities on the property, The Lake House or The Folger Home. Catch a summer yoga in the park on the large lawn area at Veterans Park or check out the summer markets held in the lawn area as well which include local vendors, food trucks, and music.
Walker Road Park

Hours: 6AM – 11PM, year-round
Set back near the woods, Walker Road Park is great for fall-time walks on the paved trails or enjoying some fishing in the stocked fishing pond. There are a handful of soccer fields at the park as well and a pavilion is also available for rental.
Weiss Park
Address: 33401 Webber Road
Hours: 6AM – 11PM, year-round
Dog Park Hours: 7AM – 9PM, year-round
Bike & Skate Park Hours: 8AM – 9PM (8AM – 6PM during Daylight Saving Time)
Being the largest community park in the city, Weiss Park is the city’s premier ballpark and also offers a plethora of other recreational activities. Residents and their children can enjoy the playground at Weiss Park, and for the furry friends, pets can run around off-leash at Weiss Fields’ fenced-in dog park, with a separate area for large and small dogs. Rentable pavilions are also available to residents and can accommodate between 50-100 people.
Lorain County Metro Park
The Lorain County Metro Park here in the city boasts more than 3 miles of maintained trails that wind alongside streams through the woodlands of Avon Lake. The park has a handful of access points, one of the main being at the Avon Lake Public Library.

Neighborhood Parks
There are also a handful of neighborhood parks throughout the city that include playgrounds, picnic areas, and some even basketball courts or baseball fields.
