With the solar eclipse fast approaching, we’re thrilled to share some exciting events happening throughout the city during the eclipse weekend and day. From special events and viewing parties there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
As you prepare for the eclipse, here are some helpful reminders:
- Ensure you have proper eye protection if you plan to view the eclipse directly.
- Stay informed about any road closures or traffic diversions that may occur due to increased visitor traffic.
- Avoid scheduling appointments on the day of the event and avoid unnecessary travel.
- Grocery stores and gas station may experience short-term shortages. Be sure to plan ahead.
- Cell phone service may be limited.
- Law enforcement, fire, EMS, health care facilities could be extremely busy.
Eclipse Events throughout the weekend:
- Saturday, April 6th: Sip & Shop, enjoy specials throughout the city from many businesses and restaurants
- Sunday, April 7th: Eclipse 5k and 1k at 10am, followed by a music festival event at Beach Park
Station starting at 11am and going until 7pm - Monday, April 8th: Official watch party at Avon Lake High School Memorial Stadium
